With song craftsmanship described as “perfect” (MusicRow), contemporary folk troubadour Jeff Black’s music is rooted in a storytelling family legacy, his older brother’s record collection, and the farmland of his Liberty, KS childhood.  In a global career spanning three decades earning numerous awards, Nashville-based Black is acknowledged as a pioneering influence on modern folk and roots music.  He was voted one of the country’s 100 most influential folk artists of the past 25 years at Boston’s WUMB. Black’s songs have earned recognition by Grammy, BMI and NPR and have been cut by leadings artists such as Alison Krauss, Sam Bush and Waylon Jennings.  Black will devote his Seaside residency to writing a new compilation of original songs, will perform at The REP Theatre and will conduct a songwriting workshop.
